NICC has been playing an important role among indigenous members in the field of trade promotion and also in the formulation of commercial, industrial and fiscal policies of the Government of Nepal. Enhancing unity and friendly spirit in the business community of the indigenous community and mutual understanding between the business community of other communities the chamber has been performing a coordinating role. The Chamber serves as an effective mode of communication and establishes relations between the regulatory bodies of government, the corporate and other business sectors, to assist the government in the development program of the country.
The prime objective of the NICC is to assist in the development of the national economy through the promotion and protection of industries and trade both in the private and public sectors taking the governmental policies into consideration. Focusing the domestic and foreign capital of indigenous communities the chamber motivates to invest in industry, commerce and business and provide proper advice and support to investors. The chamber supports industry, business or financial institutions without affecting fundamental aspects of the indigenous community and creates employment in the area where indigenous group resides. The chamber ensures continuous approval and dissemination of news related to industry, business and economic activities conducted by the indigenous community. Establishing relations with international industry, commerce and trade organizations with the permission of the Government of Nepal, the chamber tries to motivate investment in Nepal by creating an environment for co-investment. Acknowledging the emergence of upliftment of national product the chamber motivates to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions, helps to organize national and international trade fairs and exhibitions with the approval of the Government of Nepal and supports in commercializing the products produced by the indigenous community.
